The concept for the design was inspired by the golden ratio- to guide element placement and proportions, creating a naturally balanced composition that draws the eye along an elegant spiral path.
Through iterative exploration, I developed multiple color schemes and typographic variations, each testing font to balance visual impact with mathematical precision. These were my final 3 versions to choose from.
The design features carefully selected weights from the Futura and Arbotek font families, chosen for their geometric qualities that echo the mathematical foundations of the concept.
My approach draws from De Stijl movement's bold geometric aesthetic, particularly its use of thick black strokes and structured compositions. The minimalist sans serif typography reinforces this connection while maintaining contemporary relevance.
The title of the piece below is "Contra-Composition of Dissonances, XVI, Theo van Doesburg"
The chosen design emerged from careful consideration of visual balance and spacing. By adjusting the proportions of geometric elements, refining color relationships, and optimizing typographic details like the capitalization of the author's name, I created a harmonious composition that honors both the mathematical concept and design principles.
